- Start by measuring out all your ingredients. You’ll need ½ cup of raspberry jam, 1-2 tablespoons of hot sauce, 1 tablespoon of vinegar, and 1-2 tablespoons of sugar. Gather your garlic powder, onion powder, finely minced bell pepper, and cayenne pepper if you like extra spice. Having everything prepped makes the cooking process smooth and quick.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the raspberry jam, hot sauce, vinegar, sugar, garlic powder, and onion powder. Add the minced bell pepper for a little extra flavor dimension. Stir everything together with a whisk or spoon until the mixture is smooth and well-incorporated.
- If the sauce feels too thick, add 2-3 tablespoons of water to thin it out to your desired consistency. Keep stirring until the sauce is well-blended and uniform. If you prefer a thicker, more syrupy texture, add a bit more jam or reduce the water.
- Turn the heat to medium-low and let the sauce simmer gently for 10 minutes. This simmering process allows all the flavors to meld together beautifully. Stir occasionally to prevent the sauce from sticking to the bottom or burning. Watch the consistency-it should coat the back of your spoon nicely.
- Taste your homemade bronco berry sauce and adjust the flavors to your preference. If it’s not sweet enough, add more sugar. If you like it spicier, incorporate more hot sauce or cayenne pepper. You can even add a splash of lemon juice for a zesty, citrusy kick. This is your chance to make it uniquely yours!
- Once the sauce reaches your ideal flavor and consistency, remove it from the heat and let it cool to room temperature. Pour it into an airtight storage container and refrigerate. Your sauce will be ready to use immediately, but the flavors continue to develop as it sits.

Notes
Store your homemade bronco berry sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. No reheating is necessary-simply remove from the fridge 10 minutes before serving to take the chill off, or enjoy it cold straight from the container for maximum freshness.
